Tulle is a type of netting associated with brides and weddings, usually used in veils that accompany classic wedding gowns. Just a touch of this fancy fabric makes wedding albums special when placed behind pictures to make a tulle border. Often tulle secures the flowers in a bridal bouquet. Because tulle moves freely with the breeze, it is often used for outdoor wedding decor.
Chair Sashes
Use tulle to decorate seating in a variety of ways. At a beach wedding, it is likely that guests will be seated on portable chairs. Use the tulle to dress up the chairs by tying it around the back rest and making a large bow at the back. Use it to mark aisles by tying it around potted plants placed next to the chairs or the chair armrests. If the beach is dotted with palm trees, bring them into the event with tulle bows and colorful flower arrangements using orchids, palm leaves and calla lilies.
Gift Wrap
Tulle makes the perfect gift wrap for weddings. At a beach wedding, you can make centerpieces by securing some seashells inside a sachet of tulle and standing flowers in it. Or, for guest gifts, wrap some palm tree-shaped soap inside a sachet of tulle. Handmade sachets of gathered tulle, which look elegant when tied with a colored ribbon, can contain wedding mints, herbs and seeds. Use tulle to wrap larger gifts as well, such as a basket with Champagne flutes and an expensive bottle.
Flower Girl Basket
Wrap flower girl baskets in tulle to dress them up. Set the basket in the middle of a large piece of tulle. Pull the tulle up around the sides of the basket and secure it inside the basket with staples or glue. You can add flower petals before wrapping the basket so that they appear to float around in the tulle. Use tulle to tie a bow around the rim of a flower girl basket for a simpler version.
Gazebo
Use tulle to drape the roof and legs of a gazebo. Secure the fabric to the structure with ribbon for instant elegance, and make a portable beach gazebo something special for a wedding. Adorn in with flowers, wreaths and garlands. Colored tulle is also an option if white isn't your style. You can use this idea with a wedding archway, too. Simply drape the tulle over a wood or metal archway. For a simpler look, just wrap the tulle tightly around the legs of the gazebo. That way it's not so frilly but still dresses it up.
