As the city's largest natural preserve, Palmer Lake Park provides a beautiful backdrop for a wedding ceremony, according to the Brooklyn Center website. The park also has a picturesque lake area with marshes full of wildlife. West and East Palmer Lake parks have picnic shelters and picnic areas that could be used for a small outdoor reception as well.

Brooklyn Park Community Activity Center
Adjacent to Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park features a Community Activity Center with gardens and a gazebo perfect for a wedding. As the Brooklyn Park website states, the $275 gazebo rental, as of 2010, includes up to 200 white chairs and a sound system with microphone. Two separate banquet rooms are also available for rent along with the gazebo. The Gardenview Room can accommodate up to 250 people and the Grand Room up to 350 people. Both rooms include a dance floor, restrooms and audio and visual equipment.

Coon Rapids Civic Center
In nearby Coon Rapids, the Coon Rapids Civic Center provides couples with a park setting for their wedding. The Civic Center features a gazebo that is surrounded by lush landscaping and trees and can be rented for wedding ceremonies, according to Coon Rapids City website. Couples can also choose to rent the adjacent Civic Center Banquet Room for the reception. The banquet room holds 230 people and also includes use of an outdoor patio. Prices for the gazebo and banquet room vary depending on the day of the week, with Coon Rapids residents receiving a discount.

Lawraine K. Beery Mediation Garden
The city of Fridley, located just east of Brooklyn Center, operates the Springbook Nature Center, home of the Lawraine K. Beery Meditation Garden. Opened in 2009, the garden provides a setting for a small wedding, according to the city of Fridley website newsletter. The garden features three solstice towers, glacial boulder with water bubbler and numerous flowering trees, bushes and plants.
