How to Build a Gazebo Wedding Card Holder

When the wedding day arrives, a bride and groom often receive many cards from friends and family. A gazebo card holder is a convenient and very lovely way to hold the cards. Card holders can be made from many types of material to match the decor of a wedding. Willow, for example, is an pliable and beautiful wood that can be bent and twisted into a wedding card box and used again and again.

Instructions

Submerge two of the 1-1/2-foot willow branches into the bucket of water and leave them in the water for one day to soak up water and become more easily bendable.

Remove the branches from the water and pat them dry.

Bend each branch into an arch, slowly, to form one large circle when the branch ends are tied together. Tie the ends together with twine. This forms the base for the gazebo.

Tie the ends of two 1-foot branches parallel inside of the gazebo bottom with twine, to stabilize the circle.

Tie two more 1-foot branches onto the gazebo bottom, perpendicular to the previous branches.

Attach six 1-1/2-foot branches vertically to the gazebo base with twine, about 3 inches apart, spaced around the circle, leaving a slightly wider gap between the last two for an entrance.

Bend the willow branches to form a domed roof by bending the tops of the six wands over and tying them together.

Tie the remaining branches at 45-degree angles to fill in the spaces between the vertical branches, crisscrossing them and weaving them together to form a diamond pattern.

Tie the branches where they cross to reinforce the entire structure.

Place cards inside your willow branch card holder.
