How to Put Up Wedding Flower Decorations

Flowers add magic to a wedding ceremony and reception. Creating and setting up the floral arrangements yourself can substantially benefit your wedding budget. Keep in mind the theme of the wedding and color scheme when choosing the flowers and arranging the decorations. Enlist the help of your bridal party or close friends and family members to assist you in putting up your floral arrangements.

Instructions

Add a packet of flower food to a container of water, mixing the food into the water.

Submerge the cage portion of the pew flower holder into the plant food water until it is saturated.

Remove the pew clip cage from the water. Insert the stems of the flowers into the cage portion of the pew clip. Continue adding flowers until the arrangement looks full and lush.

Clip the pew clip onto the outside end of each pew.

Position floral arrangements next to the edges of the wedding arch or around the entrance to the gazebo and up the gazebo stairs, if applicable.

Wind a strip of fabric, such as a tulle or organza, around the base of the arch or gazebo entrance, working it up and around the entire arch or gazebo and to the bottom of the other sides. Wrap the fabric around the arrangements as well, so they are loosely tied to the arch, preventing them from being blown over.

Wind a flowered vine, fake or real, around the arch or the gazebo, to enhance the garden atmosphere.

Roll floral paper into a cone shape and secure in place with tape. Trim the top of the cone to make it flat and even. Attach a ribbon to either end of the top of the cone for hanging.

Place flowers into the cone and hang the cones from the branches of nearby trees or even from the arch or gazebo so the flowers hang over the bride and groom during the ceremony.
